We interviewed two of our partner civil society organizations (CSOs) who successfully advocated for domestic funding in epidemic preparedness as part of the first cohort of the Advocacy Accelerator program (2024-2025). What we learned: The impacts continue well beyond after the program ends.
Globally there has been an influx of ultra-processed products, which have negatively impacted diets and increased the prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), like cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, among others. To shift these alarming trends, GHAI works with civil society organizations to push for mandatory policies that reduce the consumption of ultra-processed food and beverages.
Government must guarantee equitable access to nutritious food for all, particularly for vulnerable groups. GHAI promotes and protects policies that increase the offer, availability and affordability of healthy food in a sustainable and environmental friendly manner.
