Petro Korol is in-country coordinator for the Road Safety program in Ukraine. Petro provides strategic and technical support to partners on advocacy, campaign planning, legislation drafting and amending changes in policies, specifically as it relates to ensuring road safety in Ukraine. He obtained Master of Laws Degree at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 2007 and Master of Laws Degree (LLM International Human Rights Law) at University of Leeds in 2020. Prior to joining the Global Health Advocacy Incubator, Petro had been working for 10 years as a lawyer and project manager at one of the strongest NGOs in Ukraine – Center for Democracy and Rule of Law and was responsible for managing different projects in the field of public health, including road safety and tobacco control in Ukraine. With his active contribution several important tobacco control laws were developed, advocated and adopted, in particular, Law on Banning Smoking in Bars and Restaurants, Law on Regulation of Tobacco Advertising.
