Lopa Ghosh

Lopa Ghosh is the India country coordinator for our Food and Nutrition program. She works with a diverse group of civil society organisations, opinion leaders and media to build a national narrative on the urgency to save lives through hypertension control and trans fats elimination from food. A development and communications practitioner for over two decades, Lopa’s work has centred around the power of people’s voices and movements influencing global development. During her tenure at the United Nations (UN), Lopa was at the heart of momentum-building for the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals, and subsequently the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She has worked on several high impact UN campaigns including the Guinness World Record holding global anti-poverty campaign Stand Up and Take Action. Lopa was a core member of the UN drafting committee for India’s recommendations on SDGs and has led the India chapter of MY World 2015 – a global citizens’ movement. Lopa has a master’s degrees in communication from the London School of Economics. She is also an author and literary reviewer.
