Jackie Okao is the Uganda in-country advocacy coordinator for the Road Safety program. She provides strategic guidance to various civil society groups to inform and implement the global Road Safety program in Uganda. Jackie brings more than 12 years in international humanitarian and development work with a focus on policy advocacy and campaigns, working on a wide range of issues including internally displaced persons and refugee protection, labor rights for women in the garment sector in Asia, post-emergency recovery and land rights, child protection, and others. Prior to joining the Global Health Advocacy Incubator, she worked at various international organizations including Oxfam GB, CARE USA, Norwegian Refugee Council and Tear Fund across the globe in Africa (East and West), Asia and the Caribbean.
