Esubalew Dadi is a legal advisor working across two critical programs at GHAI: the Food Policy Program and the Cardiovascular Health Program. He provides strategic technical assistance on legal matters such as policy development, drafting of laws and regulations, reviewing proposed laws/regulations in relation to policy priorities in every stage of advocacy processes and campaigns. He provides strategic guidance on and supporting local partners in their efforts to protect the fundamental public health rights of citizens through court litigation. Prior to joining GHAI, Esubalew was the Senior Manager of Policy Analysis at Share Our Strength, one of the leading national organizations fighting childhood poverty and hunger. In that role, he was instrumental in the development, passage, and enactment of numerous legislations on child nutrition programs across states, including the protection and defense of anti-poverty programs from many regulatory and legislative actions at the federal level. He has had numerous other policy and legal experience working at a state and international level. Esubalew holds an LL.M degree from Loyola University Chicago on Rule of Law for Development, an LL.M degree from the University of Oslo in Norway on Public International Law, and an LL.B degree from Mekelle University, Ethiopia, with great academic distinction.
