Abdullahi Hamza Hassan is a seasoned public health advocate and program manager with extensive experience in driving health policy reforms, advocacy and multi-sectoral engagement. Hamza serves as the In-Country Coordinator for the Nigeria Hypertension Control Initiative (NHCI) Advocacy Campaign, where he leads efforts to strengthen advocacy for hypertension prevention, control and management at the sub-national level. In this role, he provides strategic and technical leadership to non-government stakeholders, media and civil society partners, to push for evidence-based policies, increased resource allocation and effective implementation of hypertension services in Nigeria. With a strong track record in public health practice of about two decades, he brings expertise in policy engagement, coalition building and health systems strengthening. Hamza holds a Bachelor and a Master of Science degrees both in Clinical Psychology and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
