Stephen Atasige is in-country coordinator for the Prevent Epidemics program in Ghana. Stephen has prior experience working with the Ghana Health Service as well as international organizations including Save the Children International, AFENET, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), King’s College London’s Health Partnerships and the World Health Organization (WHO). He was a pillar manager on the Ebola response in West Africa and worked as technical advisor on the U.S. CDC’s Global Health Security Agenda projects in Liberia, Gambia and Sierra Leone through the African Field Epidemiology Network. Stephen was also technical consultant for the WHO in Tanzania and Equatorial Guinea on the COVID-19 response. He holds a Master of Philosophy in applied epidemiology and disease control, a postgraduate diploma in operations research and a Bachelor’s degree in applied biomedical science.
