Justinian Kateera is the in-country coordinator for the Prevent Epidemics program in Uganda. He is a lawyer, diplomat and public policy expert. He worked as a barrister in the United Kingdom for several years before joining the foreign service. At the permanent Mission of Uganda to the UN based in Geneva, he served as the diplomatic representative to the World Health Organization, UNAIDS, the Gavi Alliance, Global Fund, World Intellectual Property Organization and the World Trade Organization.

He has a law degree from the University of Wales, and three master’s degrees in the following: advanced studies in oil and gas leadership, from the Graduate Institute of International and Development, Geneva; public administration from Harvard University; and in global health law from Georgetown University.
