Daniel Diana serves as Research Manager on the Overdose Prevention Initiative (OPI). Dan supports the Initiative by conducting research and analysis to inform the Initiative's policy positions, legislation and communications campaigns. Prior to joining GHAI, Dan spent the last four years leading legislative affairs efforts at the National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Agency Directors (NASADAD). In this role, he advocated for the interests of State alcohol and drug agency directors at the federal level, provided direct technical assistance to States and developed resources on the annual appropriations and authorization of federal substance use programs. Daniel also has professional experience working for legal tech and compliance-oriented corporations. He holds a Master of Public Policy from American University's School of Public Affairs, with a concentration in Nonprofit Policy, Management, and Leadership and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from Villanova University.
