One Shot, Long Life!

Ghana has launched a parliamentary caucus on immunization and committed $75 million to its National Vaccine Institute to begin domestic vaccine production. In this episode, host Abel Akara Ticha speaks with Hon. Charles Agbeve, Cecilia Lodonu-Senoo of Hope for Future Generations and GHAI's Stephen Atasige about Ghana's path to immunization self-reliance. 

With 156 constituencies each receiving over 40 million Kwacha (about US$2 million) in 2026, Zambia's lawmakers are taking bold steps for local development funds to close the country's immunization financing gap. Host Abel Akara Ticha speaks with Honorable Joseph Munsanje (Chair, Parliamentary Health Committee), Honorable Christopher Kang’ombe (Chair, Parliamentary Immunization Caucus) and Friday Nkhoma of the Churches Health Association of Zambia (CHAZ) about efforts to ring-fence a quota of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for immunization and what it will take to build a fully domesticated program by 2030.
