GHAI supports civil society advocacy to protect the design and implementation of healthy food policies from being actively blocked or undermined by vested commercial interests, by:

  • Global monitoring and exposure of corporate actions, actors, and narratives that block or undermine healthy food policies.
  • Mobilization of civil society to protect food policy from corporate interference.
  • Analysis of common trends and tactics of corporate behavior across the food system.
  • Protection of healthy food policies through legal actions, as needed.

Public resources to anticipate industry behavior

GHAI publishes reports, briefs and alerts to raise awareness about industry behavior at the national, regional and global levels and arm governments and civil society with tools, information and calls for action to counter industry opposition.

Five trainings across multiple regions in 2023

GHA has trained more than 120 advocates on industry monitoring, corporate behavior analysis and strategy development to counter industry interference.

Technical assistance and capacity strengthening

GHAI has supported 21 countries and 38 civil society organizations to analyze corporate behavior undermining their food and nutrition policies.
