Capacity Strengthening

Drawing on our deep experience, we support our partners on the front lines of policy change with the tools, technical assistance and training they need to achieve policy and funding impact. We have a strong track record of success in building civil society organizations’ advocacy and technical capacity, training journalists to report on public health issues, strengthening national and regional legal networks, and helping scale movements to drive sustained change.

Health Advocacy Training and Collaboration Hub
GHAI’s Learning Platform is an interactive space to gather, exchange and learn from public health advocates and to expand knowledge and skills. This platform includes curated courses that can either be self or instructor-led, based on the needs of the programs and promotes peer to peer engagement around the world on public health advocacy. The courses, resources and tools are based on our years of experience across a range of thematic health areas and advocacy engagement.

Intellectual Disability Inclusion in National Health Systems
GHAI serves as Special Olympics International’s global strategic advocacy partner to help global and country-level teams assess the level of intellectual disability-inclusion of national health systems and develop advocacy plans for improving health access and outcomes.

Preventing Gender-Based Violence
GHAI partnered with Every Woman Treaty and Women for Human Rights Nepal on a project funded by the Rotary Foundation to support women’s rights leaders in Nepal to build a nationwide coalition that is raising awareness about, and advancing policies and other measures, to prevent violence against women.

Addressing Noncommunicable Diseases
GHAI partnered with the World Health Organization to provide noncommunicable diseases-focused advocacy training to 70 national and regional health managers in Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Health.
