Sibhatu Biadgilign Kassa, PhD, is a public health specialist and nutritionist with more than a decade of experience. He is part of the Global Health Advocacy Incubator's (GHAI) Cardiovascular Health program team. He has worked in health and nutrition in complex emergencies, primary health care (PHC) support, reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (RMNCH), health systems strengthening and humanitarian work across sub Saharan Africa. He has worked as a lecturer, program director, and consultant and is a member of the National Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent Health, and Nutrition (RMNCAH-N) Research Advisory Council (RAC) of the Federal Ministry of Health (MoH) in Ethiopia. Sibhatu has a PhD in Public Health Studies from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika, as well as a Master of Science in Human Nutrition and Rural Development from Ghent University in Belgium, a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Jimma University in Ethiopia, and a BSc in Public Health from Alemaya University in Ethiopia. Dr. Kassa is the author of more than 118 peer-reviewed articles and received a Gold Medal Award from the Ethiopian Public Health Association for Young Public Health Researcher of the year in 2015.
