Carmen Washington

Associate Director, Research

Carmen Washington
Carmen Washington is associate director of research for the Cardiovascular Health and Prevent Epidemics programs. She leads identifying best practices and research supporting health and nutrition policy priorities and finds ways to integrate research into strategic advocacy plans to inform and enhance policy change. She works closely with global and local partners to translate the research into resource materials (e.g., fact sheets, reports, presentations) that illuminate the extent and cause of the problem, expose opposition tactics and offer counter measures, and provide evidence to support policy solutions. Prior to joining the Global Health Advocacy Incubator, Carmen worked extensively on global tobacco control policy research at the Institute for Global Tobacco Control at Johns Hopkins University.
